Dental service at PolyClinic

I’m a little late in blogging this. I had wanted to try out the dental service at PolyClinic after a pleasant visit to doc at PolyClinic. Wendy gave me the number to call to make an appointment and I called them in the middle of August to get this mid-Sept slot. Not too bad, I felt.
{My regular dentist also has packed schedules. I was reluctant to go back to him because his assistant did something stupid. First she called me and reminded me of an appointment which I didn’t make. Then she insisted that I made the appointment when I said I didn’t. Then she said never mind. I got my next call from my mom who doesn’t even stay with me. She said that the assistant called her to complain about my weird behaviour of making an appointment and refusing to go to the dentist!}

So I happily went to the Tampines PolyClinic on Monday morning for my dental appointment. First, the staff made me fill up a form and within 5 mins, I was called to go to the treatment room. The dentist was a pretty young lady, probably younger than me. She did a name and NRIC check and then proceeded to do a check on my teeth. She told me that one of my white filling had turned black. She handed me a mirror to see it for myself. She asked me if I wanted to redo it. I said yes. She was done in like 5 mins! She asked me to gurgle and check if the teeth has any rough edges. It was smooth as new and looked awesome! Then she asked me if I wanted to clean my teeth, I said yes. We were done in like 10 mins! Then I made payment. All in 45 mins since I arrived at the PolyClinic. Never happened before for all my visits to my regular dentist. He is always late!! I paid less than $50. I think for the same treatment at my regular dentist, he would charge at least $300!

I walked home feeling grateful. Grateful that the government really take care of its citizens’ health. Really, we shouldn’t complain so much. Rather, stay thankful.
