Category Archives: Friendship moments

I met up for lunch with a fellow mommy friend today. We ordered lunch, caught up and talked. We didn’t realize we could talk for 4 hours non-stop! Hahaha! I’m surprised myself because I have always had difficulty expressing my thoughts and feelings verbally.
One thing I recognized was that I was seriously deprived of quality, uninterrupted adult conversation and me time. My love language is quality time so that explains a little I guess. The last time I so enjoyed talking and had 5 hours of non-stop conversation was with B at Melt in 2012.

I’m thankful for the soulful time. It was a great time of sharing our lives honestly and finding courage & hope in moving forward in our lives.

2 August 2015

We had a wonderful time with the Ngs over dinner to celebrate Izzie’s 3rd birthday at Second Storey Cafe. It is a child-friendly restaurant and my current fave. Food is nice and price is reasonable. The kids could play (within sight) while the adults fellowship. How nice!

These are friends for life! The smiles on their faces … Priceless! Really thankful for this warm family. 🙂

Lunch @ Kallang Wave

I had a good time checking out Kallang Wave with some of my department peeps yesterday over lunch. We took the circle line train from Promenade and alighted at Stadium. It is an interesting place with lots of food!! Lunch was yummy. Kless and I especially like the dry bak kut teh dish which we were too hungry to take a photo of it by the time it arrived at our table 🙂

“fancy”

I had a pretty “fancy” lunch today at Conrad Lobby Lounge. Service was good and of course, food was good as well. It was a lovely time of catch up and friendly sharing with a fellow mama to celebrate her birthday.

That two hours made me feel like a tai tai and it would be perfect if we went to the beach to relax/have a short nap. Haha! Thoughts of a FTWM.

In the midst of our conversation, I was reminded to be thankful for all that we have been blessed with.

In the company of good people and good food, no photos were taken. Disconnect to connect. 🙂

Soulful dinner 11.3.15

Tonight, a few Easterners in my cell group went for dinner together at POD Tampines. The place was cosy & homely and the staff was very friendly, loving and thoughtful. Some pictures to do the talking…

So much love in a pot

A very thoughtful Darryl was worried that Izzie wouldn’t enjoy the pot so she made her a bowl of soup which is more child-friendly. So much love!

After dinner, I asked for something sweet and was served Affogato. It is awesome! So much love!

I have never seen Izzie click so well with any kid before as with Lauren (Darryl’s girl). She affectionately calls her jiejie and follows Lauren willingly.

To sum it all, I shall end this entry with Alicia’s Instagram post.

Thank you Jesus for today.

Note: Izzie said this in her prayer tonight “Thank you God for fun with jiejie.” Those are such precious words that brought so much warmth in my heart. My prayer for Izzie is that she will grow up to be a loving jiejie also to those who are younger than her.

My Dining Room

Today’s lunch at My Dining Room with my favorite people was really enjoyable. The food and ambience and customer service was great and the company was awesome!

Whenever I think about how God connected us together, I feel so thankful and grateful for this friendship. How precious are they to me! 🙂

13.2.14

I did something out of the norm & out of my comfort zone today. I made the initiative to meet up with my secondary school friend who happens to be working in Suntec and attending CHC. We haven’t caught up for a long while. I invited her and she came for my wedding and my daughter’s first month celebration. But of course those celebrations weren’t a good time to catch up.

It was refreshing hearing from her. Basically what’s happening in her life. I am glad she started serving in greeters’ ministry this year and the impact she is making there. She is doing very well in her work too. I am proud of who she has become in God.

I really appreciate the variety of friends I have. I have never like cliques and I dislike hanging around the same people all the time. So I really treasure the times I am out of my comfort zone and do something out of just me, myself, I…

It is easy to be totally absorbed with motherhood once children come along…but I guess mothers are still individuals who can live a fulfilling lives outside the home & office. I can be me (not just a wife and a mother but also a friend) and have my own friends. Here’s something to contribute to my mental health. 😀

Something light-hearted:

Iphone for Idiots

Samsung for Smart People

But I told her that I might go back to iPhone because I didn’t like Samsung’s camera.

😛

Skinny Pizza

Soo Chee & I had lunch with OPP, KK and Audrey Yeo. It was an enjoyable lunch at Skinny Pizza. I haven’t had lunch with friends for a long long time. So I am glad we spontaneously met for lunch today. I am happy to know Audrey deeper now that we are in the same dept. She is a really fun girl to hang out with!

Looking back with thanksgiving, I am grateful for new friends in my circle this year. Having varied friends really help make me a more balanced person. 🙂 They are awesome God-sent angels.

Today I felt a little adventurous. As Izzie was asleep in Feng’s arms, I went to the main hall to feel the atmosphere. The presence of God was very strong and it drew me to want to stay in the hall to soak in His presence. So I informed Feng and she was so kind to take care of Izzie. I am very thankful to be able to worship God in His house again.

Soo Chee and I with bub bub had dinner with CK, Marina, Hann and Wanxia at Thai Express after service. It was a lovely dinner meet up. Thankful for the fellowship. What a happy day!

Long weekend

We have a long weekend because Deepavali falls on Tuesday. I am grateful for some family moments and I got to spend some good time with a good friend.

My parents came over on Sunday to see Izzie. I think this is such a beautiful picture of my dad with Izzie. My dad has never enjoyed taking photos and he seldom smiles for the camera. I really like this candid photo that I took of him and Izzie.

Lunch at Tea Cosy with Wendy on Monday
I was so upset with myself for forgetting to take a photo with Wendy. I really enjoyed myself fellowshipping with Wendy and I especially like the sofa there coz Izzie gets to lie on it comfortably. 🙂 Of cos, I so satisfied my craving of baked mushrooms and smoked salmon toasties.

Quite a tasty and affordable lunch!

We ended the day by going to my parents’ for dinner. Yay!! So grateful for the chance to spend quality time with loved ones. Looking forward to more of such precious moments.

Ending my post here with two faves for today.
I still love my bub bub despite the mess she makes. Hehehe…
